Excessive Strength of Arms (Recharge 5-6) : Mourde can deliver a blow so powerful, or so penetratingly painful, that any opponent struck must make a DC 12 Dexterity save, or fall prone.

Hit : 11 (d8+7) slashing damage. Attacks against Fiends, Fey or Undead do normal damage.

A retired wanderer and former military smith, Mourde Carter has taken service with the adventurers as their manor’s blacksmith. A retired warrior, he is seeking a quieter and simple life. A burly, strong man (20 STR!) with shaggy black hair and piercing black eyes, he has few other exceptional qualities, seeming neither particularly bright, observant nor interested in matters beyond his forge.

Mourde seems to care a great deal about doing a good job, and asks only for a fair wage for his work. He is still rather skilled as a warrior in need, and wields a war maul in combat, in his old work leathers. He helps around the farm by doing simple tasks, such as hauling water and firewood, and helps with the horses in the stables.

Mourde is capable of the usual assortment of basic iron goods (horseshoes, nails, simple iron tools), but specializes in crafting chains and manacles, of which he is quite good. He claims to be able to craft a passable buckler, shield or helmet at need, and can forge the proper pieces to craft a club or mace if required

Mourde sleeps in a corner of the main hall on Green Dagger Farm, but has expressed an interest in building his own cottage when spring arrives. He has his own horse and basic tools, along with a few pounds of silver coins from his previous work. He earns 100 sp per month for his services. He also bears a silvered longsword, bearing the crest of the Greatwyrm clan, for the defense of the farm and its inhabitants, in the face of recent werewolf attacks.


Claiming to hail from Ramos, capital of the northern Iberian city-state of Kerelind, Mourde Carter is a capable smith. He often waxes strongly of his memory of that land’s fine meadows and valley farms, and has commented that Green Dagger Farm reminds him of the highland farms in Brak.

He does not hold a metalsmith’s papers, however, having learned his craft serving in a military (or mercenary) company after taking fairly grievous wounds, that forced his retirement.

Regarding the recent werewolf threat, he was quoted as saying. “…and I had thought I’d left those things behind me…”. In defense of the hall and its occupants, he has proven very capable and indomitable of spirit, providing a surprisingly strong arm and standing against beasts that were obviously far stronger than him. He was noted as being struck unconscious twice during the fight to defend the hall on the 7th of Echos, TR 1049, but always stood back up and swung his iron maul, rather than retreat.

His winter spare time was spent making a large store of iron spikes, hinges, latches and other ironmongery for the local farmer’s houses to be built in the spring. He and Mikmek have something of an understanding, with the little kobold spending his spare time helping around the forge fires, learning the various tools and pumping the bellows on demand.
