Description

Candlemere Bog Lizards have long necks, powerful tails and claws, and well-developed limbs. The adult length of extant species ranges from 7’-long, though larger ones have been encountered on occasion. They are a semi-aquatic beast, who enjoy swimming for short distances and often lurk in shallow water, to strike unsuspecting prey. Candlemere Bog lizards are carnivorous, eating eggs, smaller reptiles, fish, birds and small mammals, sometimes also eating fruit and vegetation, when they cannot find other food.

The Candlemere Bog Lizard can be ridden by small creatures, or used as a draft animal. Lizardfolk of the bogs are fond of keeping them as pets and use them in hauling large game or during construction efforts, where their own small size cannot help them. While the beasts are infrequently encountered in the bogs, they only keep a handful of the creatures, as they compete with the lizardfolk for the same food sources.
