Mastiffs are impressive hounds prized by humanoids for their loyalty and keen senses. Mastiffs can be trained as guard dogs, hunting dogs, and war dogs. Halflings and other small humanoids sometimes train them to ride as mounts.
Another version of this beast, is the infamous “Forest Wolfhound”, a large, long-jawed hound, stronger than wolves. They are noteworthy for their faithfulness and companionship among many steadings in the forest realms, and figure highly in the myths of the Ninnellen.
