Thieves & Kings
Tarrasque Manor is a two-story stone building, with a small stable and a small tower for the manor’s guard detail. Surrounding the manor is a 12’-tall stone wall, well-patrolled and pierced by a wrought-iron gate. It is the residence of Master Daemon Tarrasque of the Merchant’s Guild.
The stone barracks acts as both housing for the manor guards, and as the servant’s quarters. Next to it lies the stables and a small workshop for woodworking and storing a wagon for use of the manor. In addition to six guards that walk patrols around the grounds and wall, are half a dozen servants; one to look after the horses, one to do general maintenance, a cook and his young assistant, and two maids.
Inside the wall and outside the house are an extensive gardens. Pretty flowers and rare trees, a few chickens and hares are kept in a hutch near the back, and a small kennel of hunting dogs are also kept and looked after by the lead guard. A few simple stone statues are also found by the casual investigator, located in hidden positions around the grounds.
Careful examination of the site by the adventurers have determined that the dogs are actually trained to alarm the guards, and are given the run of the grounds at night, to allow them some respite. They have also observed that a beautiful young woman, whom they call the Ice Rose also resides within the hall, though respected by the guards, she seems to be something of a prisoner, especially since no one else in the local community has heard of her. Lastly, the sheer size of the manor, which is larger than the recently expanded shop of Daemon Tarrasque in town, seems vastly out of place for a simple merchant, however wealthy.
