The City-State of Crebain - Blackgate
The City-State of Crebain : Best known to visitors as “Blackgate”, this city-state is ruled by High-Lord Seregul, an oppressive, vengeful, and petty man. He is best known for his ties to the Agrikan Obsidian Order, and his use of Orcish troops which he uses to his best advantage. The capital of Baud Selen is just as oppressive as its ruler, and has a dark past which lurks behind all its dealings. The relatively recent entry of Crebain into the Lord’s Alliance itself shows that some good must reside in the shadows of the city, but has long since been enslaved by the evil forces that rule its streets. Vellum and timber are the prime exports from Baud Selen, as are mercenary troops of the Obsidian Order to all the Iberian nations.
One of the “Kingdoms of the Riverlands”, whose alliance in trade and defense is officially known as the Lord’s Alliance of the Iberian City-States. Although balkanized and given to fierce competition in trade and commerce, these nations meet regularly and put aside their differences when outside forces try to test their autonomy, and that unity has kept them intact over the years. Crebain is the most recent entrant into the Alliance, partly because it does not directly connect to the others by river, and partly because it has consistently striven to dominate trade across the western border. The realm has since, however, protected Iberian caravans alogn the King’s Road into the mountains, and has prospered as a result.
